Cycle Seeds: Pumpkin + Flax Blend is for days 1-14 (the first day of your period through ovulation). This blend has notes of cinnamon and coconut and works well with breakfast foods like oatmeal, yogurt, or smoothies.

Cycle Seeds: Sesame + Sunflower Blend is for days 15-30 (or from ovulation through the last day before your period). This umami seasoning works great with any savory food. We love it on rice, eggs, veggies, and avocado.

These seasonings are included to support seed-cycling, or the practice of eating certain nutrients (via seeds) at specific times during the ovulation cycle to support healthy hormonal balance. Healthy hormonal balance is of paramount importance for all function in the body and a healthy, symptom-free ovulation cycle is an excellent monthly indicator of hormonal health.

Proponents of seed cycling say it may help lessen PMS symptoms, trigger a period (for those with amenorrhea), and help the release of certain hormones. Others say it helps them combat hormonal acne, abnormal bleeding, fatigue, infertility, sleep issues, and irregular periods commonly associated with imbalanced hormones. 

How it works:

Follicular Phase: Days 1-14 (or until ovulation, if you’re aware of when you ovulate): eat 1 tbs pumpkin + flax blend.

Flax contains a type of phytoestrogen called lignans, which supports healthy production of estrogen needed to build the endometrial lining. Conveniently, these lignans also protect against building up too much estrogen, which is also a risk in today's world where we are exposed to more environmental estrogen than ever before. Pumpkin seed boosts iron and zinc, which are critical for overall hormone health. These seeds are both high in Omega 3, which has been shown to further support hormonal balance and to help reduce cramping during menstruation.

Luteal Phase: Days 15 (or immediately after ovulation) - 30 (or last day of cycle): eat 1 tbs daily of sesame + sunflower seed blend. 

Sesame and sunflower seeds are abundant in vitamin e and zinc that promote progesterone production, which is critical for the luteal phase of the ovulation cycle. The lignans in sesame will continue to balance estrogen and ensure it is not too high in relation to progesterone. 

Many who practice seed cycling grind and consume the raw seeds, which isn’t the most pleasant gastronomic experience. We’ve created these seasonings — also grinding our own organic and sprouted seeds — so that the 1 tbs (or more if you enjoy them!) is a delight and not a chore.

Each jar contains enough seasoning for two weeks of continuous 1-tbs-a-day use. Together, the two jars have you covered for a month.


Cycle Seeds: Pumpkin + Flax Blend: pumpkin seeds, flax, hemp seeds, coconut flakes, cashews, cacao powder, maca powder, cinnamon, coconut sugar, cardamom, nutmeg, sea salt.  

Cycle Seeds: Sesame + Sunflower Blend: sesame seeds (white and black), sunflower seeds, toasted nori, coconut flakes, turmeric, dried shiitake powder, maldon salt, garlic powder, sumac.
