This might sound crazy, but it turns out periods don’t have to suck. Period symptoms are actually a sign that our bodies’ hormones need some help cycling as they’d like. We've developed some delicious treats full of nutrients that support healthy hormonal function— and therefore healthy cycles with as few annoying period symptoms as possible.

We crave chocolate and sweets pretty hard at that time of the month, but sugar-laden treats have been implicated in making cramping and other period symptoms worse. With the moon cookie, we’re scratching two itches with one hand — or whatever the kids say these days — satisfying our cravings and addressing the root cause of our symptoms.

In this cookie, ashwagandha supports mood and relaxation, cocoa energizes and  improves brain function, flax promotes healthy skin and stabilizes blood sugar, and pumpkin seed relieves belly bloats and reduces cramping.

This cookie has so little sugar (4g!) that you can feel good about every bite. Something that delights the taste buds and the gut? Now we think that’s Good Medicine — we hope you feel the same way, too!

Ingredients: pumpkin seed butter, flax seed, coconut oil, coconut sugar, ashwagandha, vanilla, sea salt.


Our pair of seasonings supports seed-cycling, or the practice of eating certain nutrients (via seeds) at specific times during the ovulation cycle to support healthy hormonal balance. Healthy hormonal balance is of paramount importance for all functions in the body and a healthy, symptom-free ovulation cycle is an excellent monthly indicator of hormonal health.

Proponents of seed cycling say it may help lessen PMS symptoms, trigger a period (for those with amenorrhea), and help the release of certain hormones. Others say it helps them combat hormonal acne, abnormal bleeding, fatigue, infertility, sleep issues, and irregular periods commonly associated with imbalanced hormones.

How it works:

Follicular Phase: Days 1-14 (or until ovulation, if you’re aware of when you ovulate): eat 1 tbs pumpkin + flax blend.

Flax contains a type of phytoestrogen called lignans, which supports healthy production of estrogen needed to build the endometrial lining. Conveniently, these lignans also protect against building up too much estrogen, which is also a risk in today's world where we are exposed to more environmental estrogen than ever before. Pumpkin seed boosts iron and zinc, which are critical for overall hormone health. These seeds are both high in Omega 3, which has been shown to further support hormonal balance and to help reduce cramping during menstruation.

Luteal Phase: Days 15 (or immediately after ovulation) - 30 (or last day of cycle): eat 1 tbs daily of sesame + sunflower seed blend.

Sesame and sunflower seeds are abundant in vitamin e and zinc that promote progesterone production, which is critical for the luteal phase of the ovulation cycle. The lignans in sesame will continue to balance estrogen and ensure it is not too high in relation to progesterone.

Many who practice seed cycling grind and consume the raw seeds, which isn’t the most pleasant gastronomic experience. We’ve created these seasonings — also grinding our own organic and sprouted seeds — so that the 1 tbs (or more if you enjoy them!) is a delight and not a chore.

Pumpkin + Flax Blend is for days 1-14 (the first day of your period through ovulation). This blend has notes of cinnamon and coconut and works well with breakfast foods like oatmeal, yogurt, or smoothies.

Ingredients: pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, hemp seeds, chia seeds, cashews, coconut flakes, coconut sugar, cinnamon, maca, nutmeg, cardamom, sea salt

Sesame + Sunflower Blend is for days 15-30 (or from ovulation through the last day before your period). This umami seasoning works great with any savory food. We love it on rice, eggs, veggies, and avocado.

Ingredients: sesame seeds (white and black), sunflower seeds, toasted nori, coconut flakes, turmeric, dried shiitake powder, maldon salt, garlic powder, sumac

Each jar contains enough seasoning for two weeks of continuous 1-tbs-a-day use. Together, the two jars have you covered for a month.



In this tea, red raspberry leaf offers B vitamins, vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, zinc, phosphorus and iron. All of these nutrients contribute to healthy hormone balance and therefore less painful periods. Nettle reduces inflammation and supports entire endocrine system. Licorice root helps the body regulate cortisol and promotes a calm and stable mood. Drink this tea all month long and you'll notice that periods come and go with much less fuss.

An epsom salt bath is an unbeatable way to absorb magnesium, which has been shown to relax muscle tension and contraction that contribute to the sensation of cramps. Clary sage oil is a known anti-spasmodic that also promotes relaxation of the muscles that can ultimately relieve pain. Lavender and red rose relax the mind and promote stable moods. Geranium oil is used as a diuretic to reduce bloating, and yarrow flowers control sebum production, which causes oily skin and acne, and also balances the skin's PH and tightens the skin, encouraging a healthy glow.
